ABC Challenge 'D': Dry marble nails

Another Friday, another instalment of the ABC Challenge! (Follow the link to find out more about it.) Last week for the letter 'C', I did constellation nails. Today for 'D' I chose to do this design using the dry marble method.

I added a little twist by using a pink-purple thermal polish, so the overall look changes depending on how warm or cold my fingers are. Read on for the details, more photos, and a video tutorial - my first video on YouTube!

ABC Challenge 'C': Constellation nails

It's week 3 of Nail Polish Society's ABC challenge! (Follow the link to find out more about it.) Here's my interpretation - 'C' for constellations. Read on for the details, more photos, and a video tutorial.

ABC Challenge 'B': Bow nails

I'm back with my entry for 'B' on Nail Polish Society's ABC Challenge! This is a new weekly nail art challenge based on the 26 letters of the alphabet. Last Friday I did an accent nail design for 'A'.

For 'B', I had a few ideas - my favourite was my sister's quirky idea of 'Bonsai'. However, given my lack of freehand painting skills and a stamping plate with bonsai patterns - I settled for 'Bows', using my favourite tool, striping tape.

ABC Challenge 'A': Accent nail (& A-England)

Emiline of Nail Polish Society recently came up with a new nail art challenge inspired by the (English) alphabet. It initially looked daunting, as the schedule stretches on until December to accommodate all 26 letters, once a week on Fridays.

Then I started getting lots of ideas for several letters, and I realised that this is quite a brilliant challenge, because it leaves a lot of room for interpretation. But it is still a challenge because it does introduce a constraint - for instance, my previous striped design had absolutely nothing in it that would have fit the 'A' prompt. And I will be painting my nails at least weekly for the foreseeable future - so I'm on board!

Today for 'A', I've went for a design with an accent nail. Read on for all the details, more photos, and a video tutorial - plus links to all the other nail artists who've joined in on the challenge.

Striped nails with 'Hatch' and 'Cin Cin'

Along with the Cirque Colors Metropolis cremes that I recently blogged about - Whitney, Don't Forget the Cannoli, and Chelsea Girl - I also bought a few polishes from their recent Speckled and Sparkled collection. For this relatively simple design I've used 'Hatch' and 'Cin Cin'.
