ABC Challenge 'F': French tips

It's Friday - time for the next instalment of the ABC challenge! I wanted to do something simple this week - no stamping, gradients, decals or anything that has a good chance of failing. (Didn't want to end up with an F for Fail!) Initially I thought of doing some floral French tips, but I settled with a colourful, glittery variant of the classic French manicure.

I recently purchased a few Cadillacquer polishes, and I'm really excited to get around to using them all. For this design I started with 'Apricity', which is from the Petrichor collection (Jan 2016). It's a mint-green crelly (semi-translucent polish), filled with varying shapes and sizes of purple glitter. I needed two to three coats for opacity, depending on how thick the coats were.

I used nail vinyls by RockNailStar as a guide for the French tips. I love that their French vinyl set includes three sizes to fit different nails, which ensures that the curvature across all the nails will be the same. (You can get a glimpse of the vinyl set in the video below!)

The dark purple on the tips is Cadillacquer's 'Valhalla', from their latest Valhalla collection. It's packed with blue and white flakes, and some fine holo glitter. The close-ups of both Valhalla and Apricity are just incredible!
