ABC Challenge 'K': Kaleidoscope nail art

Welcome back to another week of the ABC Challenge! Today we've reached the letter K, and I've done a kaleidoscope-inspired design.

Read on for all the details, photos, and video tutorial.

I started out with this polish that I've been wanting to try for a long time - 'Prim and Copper' by Femme Fatale Cosmetics. It's exclusive to the Rainbow Connection UK online store, and it's a beautiful deep red-purple with gold shimmer and holographic glitter.

Purple is my favourite colour so it's no surprise that I love this!

I picked out two more polishes by Femme Fatale for the reverse-stamped kaleidoscope pattern - 'Rose Red' and 'Cinderella', both from the Enchanted Fables collection. The pattern is from UberChic Beauty's 9-03 stamping plate. Here's the video tutorial.

As usual, I used my trusty MoYou London rectangular stamper, and the black stamping polish is by Konad.

'Rose Red' and 'Cinderella' would probably have showed up better over a lighter colour, but I was determined to use 'Prim and Copper'! Anyway, the bright green shimmer in Rose Red does give the design an interesting glass-like effect. In fact, it did make me think that this might look like stained glass more than it resembles a kaleidoscopic pattern.

I couldn't decide between these two close-up photos, so I've included both!

Overall I'm very pleased with how this turned out! What do you think? Let me know by leaving a comment, and don't forget to check out what other nail artists have done for the letter K by following the links below.

  1. Your nail art is beautiful !
And I had the same feekling as you when I finished my kaleidoscopic nails : they look more like stained glass than kaleidoscopic ...but they're pretty anyway :D

  2. This turned out so perfect! I need to get set 9 from Uber Chic, but I haven't really played with the recent plates I bought from there yet.
