ABC Challenge 'W': Watermarble

Just X, Y and Z left on the ABC Challenge after this! This week for the letter W I've chosen to do a watermarble design, using three Cirque Colors polishes from their recent Metropolis Fall/Winter 2016 release. Have a look at the full post for more photos!

Bottle: Cirque Colors 'Central Park After Dark'

The three polishes I used are 'Central Park After Dark' (green), 'Storm King' (blue), and 'Dakota' (beige). They were so easy to work with, and best of all I didn't even have to paint on a base colour before I added the watermarble. I only had on a layer of clear base coat under this, so you can really see how opaque these polishes are!

In this close-up you can see a little bald patch in the middle green petal, which only appeared after I added top coat, so it seems the top coat slightly dissolved the thin layer of polish underneath. It's not a fault with either the polishes or the top coat at all - quick-dry top coat just does have a higher concentration of solvents, and this can happen very occasionally. And of course, if you had on two or more layers of polish, even if the top coat did this, it would not show up at all.

I was very pleased with how this turned out! Sometimes watermarbling can go terribly wrong, but this time the stars aligned and it was smooth sailing.

Thanks for stopping by today! Why not have a look at what other nail artists have done for the letter W by following the links below?
